From sunrise surf sessions to midnight movies, this town runs on rhythm. At the heart of it all sits Asbury Lanes—a 1960s bowling alley turned rock & roll icon. Locals don’t need to be told how much history this beloved institution holds for Asbury Park. First opened in the 1960s as an 18-lane bowling alley, young creatives quickly claimed the place as their HQ, erecting a makeshift stage where would-be guitar gods and punk rockers jammed along with the sounds of tumbling pins crashing in the background.
